What is you travel bucket list? Here’s an account by one of my readers telling us one of her Bucket lists for 2017.
I love Dubai. For me, Dubai is the most magical city in the world. A city of dreams filled with mesmerizing beauty, charms, opportunities and adventures. Although I have been living in Dubai for the last 2 years, I wasn’t able to get a chance to experience some of the city’s main adventure activities. Desert Safari, getting on a yacht or even a Dhow Cruise along the Marina to name some (yheap, shameful). Aside from being lazy (guilty), my work load for the past years was crazy.
I told myself that 2017 will not end without me trying these activities. January, being one of those months when Dubai has been blessed with the best weather, it is also the perfect time to try these activities. Let’s call them as my #BucketList2017
BucketList#1 BUDGET FRIENDLY DHOW CRUISE, DUBAI MARINA
Dubai Marina always fascinates me. Known as the world’s largest man made marina, with futuristic skyscrapers surrounding it. For my first bucket list for 2017, I wanted to tour the Dubai Marina Waterfront (but on a budget).
I asked some of my friends and most of them recommended to try Al Wasl Dhow Cruise Dubai Marina.
Al Wasl Dhow Cruise, boasts on its 5-star dinner cruise but easy on the budget packages. With the reviews I have read, I got convinced to finally book the tour and try it for myself. (note: booking prior to your tour is highly advisable).
On the day of my cruise, my pick up arrived on time (I was a little late but they were kind enough to wait for me^^). Within half an hour we reached the assembly area where we were ushered and welcomed to board the cruise ship. Welcome refreshments were served and I must admit I was impressed with the size of this cruise ship. As per my research, it is the biggest dhow cruise in Dubai Marina which can carry up to 200 guests at a time.
There were also sweets and traditional Arabic tea being served around while the other guests and I started to mingle and find our places to sit.
The route of the cruise is around the Dubai Marina Waterfront all the way to the Palm Islands. The view was so romantic. The lights of the skyscrapers reflecting on the marina gave a bit of a magical atmosphere while the Arabic music playing in the background definitely sets the Middle Eastern mood.
My favorite part of the cruise was our very hearty dinner, which caters for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. After dinner, guests were entertained by a Tanora Dance (a form of folkloric dance famous in Egypt and Turkey).
The whole cruise lasted for 2 hours, truly a memorable Arabian Night experience. If you are visiting Dubai, or just like me, who lives here but haven’t experienced this activity yet, I highly recommend it.
