A few months back I planned a trip to Latin America and the main reason is to see and experience Dia de los Muertos first hand. I love the movie Coco and I can say that it is one of the things (maybe the main driving factors) that really urged me to visit Mexico and participate in this festive Mexican tradition.
Dia de los Muertos, also known as the Day of The Dead is a huge and festive event in Mexico. It is celebrated all throughout the country and in every Mexican home all over the world. It is very different from the way we view All Saints /Souls Day and Halloween here in the Philippines. The Mexicans view death as part of “life cycle” and Dia de los Muertos isn’t a day of sadness but a day of celebration because their loved ones are awake and can celebrate with them. Literally, there is a concert stage in the cemetery.
So here’s a vlog of my experience during the Dia de Los Muertos in Sayulita, Mexico. If you haven’t subscribed yet. Please please please click the subscribe button on my channel so you can get notified for upcoming videos :).
